Samsung Galaxy A57 5G Overview
Design and Display
Samsung has refined the design of the Galaxy A57 5G, making it noticeably slimmer and lighter than its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy A56. At just 6.9mm thick and 179g, it feels more comfortable and premium in hand compared to the A56’s bulkier 7.4mm and 198g build. While the difference may look minor on paper, you will clearly notice the improved ergonomics in daily use.
The phone features a glass front and back paired with a sturdy aluminum frame, along with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Samsung offers the device in three elegant colors: Lilac, Icy Blue, and Navy.
On the front, the Galaxy A57 5G sports a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display that delivers vibrant colors, excellent contrast, and HDR10+ support. It also includes a smooth 120Hz adaptive refresh rate (without LTPO), FHD+ resolution, and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. While the display quality remains impressive, the bezels are still relatively unchanged, which feels slightly outdated in this segment.
Performance
Samsung powers the Galaxy A57 5G with its new Exynos 1680 chipset, replacing the Exynos 1580 found in the A56. The upgraded Xclipse 550 GPU improves graphical performance, making gaming smoother and more consistent.
The A56 handled everyday tasks well but struggled with sustained gaming performance. With the A57, Samsung addresses this issue by adding a 13% larger vapor chamber, which helps manage heat better and maintain stable performance during long gaming sessions.
The device comes with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage, although the 512GB variant is currently unavailable in Nepal.
On the software side, the phone runs One UI 8.5 based on Android 16. This latest version introduces refreshed visuals and new Galaxy AI features like Voice Transcription in the Voice Recorder app, AI Select for quick text extraction, and improved system-wide search. Samsung also promises 6 years of OS and security updates, making it a reliable long-term investment.
Camera
The Galaxy A57 5G retains the same triple-camera setup as the A56. It includes a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 5MP macro camera. On the front, you get a 12MP selfie camera.
In good lighting conditions, the main camera captures sharp images with accurate colors and decent dynamic range. However, the ultrawide camera still struggles in low-light situations, often producing softer details and limited dynamic range.
One noticeable drawback is the absence of a dedicated telephoto lens. While the 50MP sensor allows digital cropping for 2x zoom, it cannot match the clarity of true optical zoom. This limitation puts the A57 behind competitors like the Nothing Phone 4a, Vivo V60, and Honor 400 Pro, which offer more versatile camera systems.
Battery
Samsung equips the Galaxy A57 5G with a 5,000mAh battery and 45W wired charging, which remains unchanged from previous models. While this setup delivers reliable all-day performance, it falls behind many competitors that now offer larger batteries ranging from 6,000mAh to even 10,000mAh.

Final Thoughts
The Galaxy A57 5G focuses on refinement rather than major upgrades. It improves design, thermal performance, and long-term software support, but retains the same camera and battery setup. If you value a slim design, reliable performance, and extended software updates, it remains a solid midrange choice. However, if camera versatility and battery capacity matter more, you may find better options in this price range.
