OnePlus has officially introduced the OnePlus Nord CE 6 in Nepal as the successor to last year’s Nord CE 5. This time, the company has brought some noticeable upgrades, including a smoother 144Hz AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, a larger 7,500mAh battery, and an improved 32MP selfie camera. The phone also offers better durability with multiple IP ratings and military-grade certification. However, there is an unexpected downgrade in the camera department. So, let’s dive into everything you need to know about the OnePlus Nord CE 6, including its specifications, features, availability, and official price in Nepal.
OnePlus Nord CE 6 Overview
Design and Display
Starting with the design, the OnePlus Nord CE 6 brings a refreshed look with what the company calls a metal cube deco. It features a clean rear panel with a rounded-square camera island that houses two camera sensors and a pill-shaped LED flash.
Despite packing a massive battery, the phone maintains a relatively slim profile at 8.5mm, although its 215g weight makes it slightly heavier than its predecessor.
OnePlus has also made significant improvements in durability. The Nord CE 6 comes with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance, alongside MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification. This makes it considerably more durable than the Nord CE 5.
As for the color options, the device is available in three finishes: Fresh Blue, Pitch Black, and Lunar Pearl.
Moving to the front, the Nord CE 6 sports a large 6.78-inch Sunburst AMOLED display with a sharp 1.5K resolution (1272 × 2772 pixels). The panel supports 10-bit colors and 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, promising vibrant visuals and an enjoyable multimedia experience.
It also offers up to 3,600 nits of peak brightness and 1,800 nits in High Brightness Mode (HBM), helping improve outdoor visibility.
Another welcome upgrade is the faster 144Hz refresh rate, compared to the 120Hz panel on its predecessor. Combined with a touch response rate of up to 3,200Hz, the display should feel responsive during gaming, scrolling, and everyday navigation.
Performance and Software
Under the hood, the OnePlus Nord CE 6 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, built on a power-efficient 4nm architecture. The chipset is designed to deliver a balance between everyday performance, gaming capabilities, and battery efficiency.
OnePlus also claims that the device can support gaming at up to 144 FPS in selected compatible titles. While actual performance will depend on game optimization and settings, the higher frame rate support is certainly a welcome addition for mobile gamers.
To keep temperatures under control, the company has included an advanced vapor chamber (VC) cooling system, which helps dissipate heat during extended gaming sessions and other demanding tasks.
In terms of memory, the Nord CE 6 comes with 8GB of RAM paired with either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.
On the software front, the phone boots on OxygenOS 16.0 based on Android 16. OnePlus promises two major Android upgrades and three years of security updates.
The device also integrates Google Gemini, bringing AI-powered assistance and additional smart features to improve the overall user experience.
Camera
The camera department is where things get a little interesting. The OnePlus Nord CE 6 features a dual rear camera setup led by a 50MP OmniVision OV50D40 primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. It supports both Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), helping capture sharper photos and more stable videos.
However, OnePlus has replaced the 8MP ultrawide camera found on the Nord CE 5 with a 2MP auxiliary sensor. This is a noticeable downgrade, especially for users who prefer taking wide-angle landscape or group photos.
Fortunately, the selfie camera receives an upgrade. The Nord CE 6 now features a 32MP front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture, offering higher resolution than its predecessor.
For video recording, both the front and rear cameras support up to 4K at 30fps, making the device a reasonable option for casual content creation and everyday videography.
Battery and Charging
Battery life is undoubtedly one of the major highlights of the OnePlus Nord CE 6. The device packs a massive 7,500mAh battery, an increase over the 7,100mAh capacity found on the previous generation.
According to OnePlus, the battery can deliver up to 10 hours of BGMI gaming or approximately 30 hours of YouTube playback on a single charge. While real-world endurance will vary depending on usage, the large battery should comfortably handle a full day of heavy use and potentially more than two days of moderate usage.
For charging, the Nord CE 6 supports 80W wired fast charging. It also offers compatibility with 13.5W PD and 55W PPS charging standards.
Interestingly, the phone supports up to 27W wired reverse charging as well. This means you can use the Nord CE 6 as a portable power bank to charge compatible accessories or even another smartphone when needed.
