OnePlus has officially launched its latest flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 13, in China, and the device has now arrived in Nepal. Powered by the latest Snapdragon chipset and equipped with several hardware upgrades, this phone focuses on performance, display quality, and battery life.
In this article, we’ll explore the key features, specifications, and official price of the OnePlus 13 in Nepal.
OnePlus 13 Overview
Design and Display
The OnePlus 13 returns to a more refined and minimalist design. OnePlus replaces the bold camera layout of previous models with a simpler circular camera island, giving the phone a cleaner and more premium look. Despite the redesign, the overall appearance still resembles its predecessor.
One of the most notable upgrades is the IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance, a big improvement over the IP65 rating on the OnePlus 12. This marks a significant step forward, as higher water resistance ratings were often missing from earlier OnePlus flagships.
On the front, the phone features a 6.82-inch BOE X2 OLED display with 8T LTPO technology. The screen offers a 1Hz to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, QHD+ resolution, and an impressive peak brightness of up to 4500 nits. OnePlus also slightly flattens the display compared to the previous generation, though the edges remain subtly curved for a comfortable grip.
Another improvement comes in the form of an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, which replaces the optical sensor used in the previous model. Ultrasonic sensors are typically faster and more secure.
Performance and Memory
Under the hood, the OnePlus 13 runs on the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset built on TSMC’s advanced 3nm process. This processor introduces new Oryon Prime and performance cores, delivering up to 45% better CPU performance and 44% improved efficiency.
Graphics performance also receives a major boost thanks to the Adreno 830 GPU, which offers up to 40% higher graphics performance compared to the previous generation. With these improvements, the OnePlus 13 is designed to handle heavy gaming and demanding tasks with ease.
To enhance the gaming experience further, OnePlus includes a new high-precision vibration motor, which the company claims is the largest vibration motor ever used in an Android smartphone.
The phone starts with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage. Users can also choose higher configurations with up to 24GB RAM and 1TB storage. However, like most modern flagships, the device does not support expandable storage.
In Nepal and other global markets, the OnePlus 13 runs OxygenOS 15 based on Android 15, while the Chinese variant ships with ColorOS.
Cameras and Battery
For photography, the OnePlus 13 features a triple-camera setup, co-developed with Hasselblad. Each sensor on the rear carries a 50MP resolution, offering versatility across different shooting scenarios.
The primary camera uses the Sony LYT-808 sensor with OIS, which also appears in the OPPO Find X8 Pro. It delivers improved dynamic range and low-light performance.
The camera system includes:
- 50MP Sony LYT-808 main camera (OIS)
- 50MP Samsung JN5 ultrawide camera
- 50MP Sony LYT-600 periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS
For selfies and video calls, the phone features a 32MP front camera with an f/2.4 aperture.
Battery life also sees a major upgrade. The OnePlus 13 uses a 6000mAh Silicon Carbide battery, replacing the traditional lithium-polymer cell. This technology allows OnePlus to fit a larger battery without dramatically increasing the phone’s size.
Charging speeds remain impressive:
- 100W wired fast charging
- 50W wireless charging
- 10W reverse wireless charging
Even with the larger battery, the phone can charge up to 50% in about 13 minutes and reach 100% in roughly 36 minutes. However, OnePlus does not include the charger in the box for Nepal.
