Moto G85 5G

After weeks of anticipation, Motorola has officially launched the Moto G85 5G in Nepal. We first heard about this device back in early June, and now it has finally made its way to the Nepali market. Positioned as a stylish mid-range smartphone, the Moto G85 5G brings a curved pOLED display, a refreshed Snapdragon chipset, and a clean Android experience.

Let’s take a closer look at the Moto G85 5G, including its design, performance, camera features, and official price in Nepal.

Moto G85 5G Overview

Design and Display

The Moto G85 5G follows Motorola’s familiar G-series design language, featuring a clean and minimal look with a camera module that blends smoothly into the rear panel. Motorola is offering this phone in three attractive colour options: Olive Green, Cobalt Blue, and Urban Grey. The Olive Green and Cobalt Blue variants come with a premium vegan leather finish, while the Urban Grey model uses a standard PMMA (acrylic) back.

On the front, the Moto G85 5G sports a 6.67-inch 3D curved pOLED display with an FHD+ resolution. The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and reaches up to 1,600 nits of peak brightness, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Additionally, the 10-bit panel covers the DCI-P3 colour gamut, delivering rich colours and smooth visuals.

Performance and Software

Powering the Moto G85 5G is the newly introduced Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset. This processor is a refreshed version of the Snapdragon 695 found in the Moto G84 5G, offering slightly improved performance and efficiency. Notably, the Moto G85 5G is the first smartphone to debut with this chipset.

In terms of memory, Motorola offers the phone with 8GB or 12GB of RAM, paired with 256GB of internal storage. The device also supports virtual RAM expansion and allows storage expansion of up to 1TB via a microSD card, giving users plenty of flexibility. On the software side, the phone runs on Android 14, offering a clean and near-stock Android experience.

Camera and Battery

The Moto G85 5G features a dual-camera setup on the back. It includes a 50MP primary camera with OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) for sharper and more stable shots, along with an 8MP ultra-wide camera that also doubles as a macro shooter. For selfies and video calls, there’s a 32MP front-facing camera housed in a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout.

Fueling the device is a 5,000mAh battery, which should comfortably last a full day of usage. It supports 30W fast charging, helping you top up the battery quickly when needed. Additional features include stereo speakers, a dual-microphone setup, and support for 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and eSIM, enabling a convenient dual-SIM experience.
