Motorola has introduced the new Moto G Max in India, bringing a battery-focused smartphone with several notable upgrades for the mid-range segment. The phone packs a massive 7,000mAh battery, Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, 120Hz display, and a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 main camera. It also offers durability features such as MIL-STD-810H certification, Gorilla Glass 7i, and an IP64 rating.
In this article, we will discuss everything you need to know about the Moto G Max, including its specifications, features, expected price in Nepal, and availability.
Moto G Max Overview
Camera and Battery
The Moto G Max features a dual-camera setup on the rear, headlined by a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and Quad Pixel technology. It is accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture. For selfies and video calls, Motorola has equipped the phone with a 32MP front-facing camera.
The 50MP main camera should deliver detailed photos in good lighting, while the ultrawide lens gives users more flexibility when capturing landscapes, buildings, or group shots. The 32MP selfie camera should also handle everyday selfies and video calls with ease.
The biggest highlight of the Moto G Max, however, is its battery. The phone packs a huge 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which Motorola claims can provide more than two days of usage on a single charge. It supports 30W TurboPower wired charging through a USB Type-C port.
With such a large battery, the Moto G Max should comfortably last through a full day of heavy use. Users with lighter usage could potentially get well into a second day before reaching for the charger.
Design and Display
The Moto G Max combines a relatively slim profile with a durable build. It measures 166.2 x 76.5 x 8.6mm and weighs around 213 grams. Motorola has given the rear panel a satin-inspired finish and offers the phone in Pantone-curated color options, including Stargazer, Alaskan Blue, and Malaga.
For added durability, the phone features Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection on the front, an IP64 rating, and MIL-STD-810H certification. These features should help the device handle everyday scratches, dust, and exposure to water splashes more effectively.
On the front, the Moto G Max sports a 6.72-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel can reach up to 1,050 nits of brightness in HBM mode, which should make it easier to view the screen outdoors.
While the phone uses an LCD panel instead of an AMOLED display, its 120Hz refresh rate should provide smoother scrolling, animations, and general navigation. Motorola also includes stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support and retains a 3.5mm headphone jack for users who prefer wired earphones.
Performance and Software
The Moto G Max runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, which uses a 4nm manufacturing process. The same chipset also powers devices such as the Motorola Moto G57 Power, while the upcoming Redmi Note 17 Pro is also expected to use this platform.
Motorola has positioned the Moto G Max as an everyday performance smartphone rather than a dedicated gaming device. The Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 should handle social media, streaming, browsing, multitasking, and casual gaming without major issues. However, users looking for a more gaming-focused smartphone may want to consider alternatives such as the Nothing Phone 4b, Infinix Note 60 Pro, POCO M8 Pro, or Infinix GT 30 Pro.
In terms of memory, the Moto G Max comes with 6GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The phone also supports microSD expansion, giving users additional flexibility for storing photos, videos, apps, and other files.
On the software side, the Moto G Max runs Android 16 with Motorola’s Hello UI. Motorola has promised two major Android OS upgrades and three years of security updates for the device.
