HONOR has officially completed its Play 11 lineup with the launch of the standard HONOR Play 11 in China. The company previously introduced the Play 11 Plus and Play 11 Pro, and the new standard model now joins the series as a more affordable option.
Despite sitting at the entry level of the lineup, the HONOR Play 11 packs several notable features. It comes with a massive 8,300mAh battery, a 120Hz display, Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset, IP68/IP69/IP69K protection, and a dedicated AI button.
In this article, we discuss everything about the HONOR Play 11, including its design, display, performance, cameras, battery, specifications, price, and availability.
HONOR Play 11 Overview
Design and Build
The HONOR Play 11 takes a practical approach to its design, with a large body that accommodates its sizeable battery and display. The phone measures 168.3 x 78.54 x 8.30mm and weighs 216.5 grams.
HONOR offers the phone in four color options: Desert Gold, Mist Purple, Meteor Silver, and Phantom Black.
Durability is one of the phone’s key highlights. The Play 11 carries IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, giving it protection against dust and water. It also has an SGS Gold Label five-star certification for drop and compression resistance. According to HONOR, the phone can withstand drops from up to 2.5 meters.
Display
The HONOR Play 11 features a 6.87-inch TFT LCD with an HD+ resolution of 1592 x 720 pixels. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, which makes scrolling, animations, and general navigation feel smoother than on a conventional 60Hz display.
The display can reach up to 1,020 nits of peak brightness in HBM mode. HONOR also includes DC dimming, an eye comfort mode, and a natural light-like display setting.
While the Play 11 does not use an OLED panel like the Play 11 Pro, HONOR has added several features to improve the overall viewing experience.
Performance and Memory
Under the hood, the HONOR Play 11 runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset, which uses a 4nm process.
The phone comes with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, depending on the configuration. It runs Android 16 with MagicOS 10.0 out of the box.
HONOR has also added a dedicated AI button to the phone. Users can press the button to quickly access various AI-powered features. A single press can identify and dismiss pop-up windows, while other functions include Any Door, remote assistance, and AI face-swap detection.
Cameras
For photography, the HONOR Play 11 features a 50MP primary rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture. The phone uses a simple single-camera setup rather than adding secondary sensors that may not offer much practical value at this price point.
For selfies and video calls, the phone gets a 5MP front camera with an f/2.2 aperture.
The camera setup focuses on basic everyday photography, selfies, and video calls rather than offering a more versatile multi-camera system.
Battery and Charging
The 8,300mAh battery is arguably the biggest highlight of the HONOR Play 11. In fact, its battery is even larger than the 7,000mAh cells found in both the Play 11 Plus and Play 11 Pro.
The phone supports 45W wired charging through a USB Type-C port. HONOR also claims that the battery can maintain its health for up to six years under specified laboratory conditions.
With its large battery capacity, the Play 11 is clearly designed for users who prioritize long battery life and less frequent charging.
Audio and Other Features
HONOR equips the Play 11 with stereo speakers and a high-volume mode that can increase audio output by up to 400%, according to the company.
For biometric security, the phone features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, and dual Nano-SIM support.
The phone also supports wired reverse charging, allowing users to use its large battery to charge other compatible devices.
