Samsung Galaxy A37 5G

Samsung has officially launched the Samsung Galaxy A37 5G in Nepal, alongside the Galaxy A57. However, if you were planning to upgrade from last year’s Galaxy A36, this new model might not feel like a big leap.

Samsung has kept most things the same — from design to battery and even cameras — and only introduced a new Exynos chipset. Unfortunately, the price has also increased noticeably. Let’s take a closer look at everything the Galaxy A37 5G offers.

Samsung Galaxy A37 5G Overview

Design and Display

Samsung has reused the same design from the Galaxy A36 for the Galaxy A37 5G. The phone features identical dimensions, thickness, and overall weight, making it nearly impossible to distinguish between the two at first glance.

The device comes with a glass front and back, paired with a plastic frame, and retains IP68 water and dust resistance. Despite the plastic frame, the phone still feels premium in hand.

You can choose from Black, Gray-green, Lavender, and White color options, although the White variant is currently unavailable in Nepal.

On the front, the Galaxy A37 5G sports a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. While Samsung still skips LTPO technology in this segment, the display remains impressive. It reaches up to 1,200 nits in typical brightness and peaks at 1,900 nits, ensuring excellent outdoor visibility and vibrant HDR performance.

Interestingly, Samsung uses the same display panel as the Galaxy A57, which adds more value here. Even with slightly thick bezels, the 86.5% screen-to-body ratio still delivers an immersive experience.

The display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+, offering strong durability against scratches and drops. However, the lack of HDR10+ support (available on the A57) may disappoint some users.

Performance

The biggest upgrade in the Galaxy A37 5G comes in the performance department.

Samsung replaces the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 from the A36 with its in-house Exynos 1480 chipset. While switching from Snapdragon to Exynos might sound questionable, the change actually improves performance.

In real-world usage, the Exynos 1480 delivers smoother UI navigation, better multitasking, and fewer micro-stutters compared to its predecessor. For everyday use, this chipset feels more refined and reliable.

The phone comes with:

  • 8GB or 12GB RAM
  • 128GB or 256GB storage

On the software side, the Galaxy A37 5G runs on Android 16 with One UI 8.5 out of the box. Samsung also promises six years of OS and security updates, which is a major advantage in this segment.

Camera

Samsung has made no changes to the camera system.

The Galaxy A37 5G features:

  • 50MP main camera (OIS)
  • 8MP ultrawide lens
  • 5MP macro camera
  • 12MP front camera

While Samsung’s main camera continues to deliver reliable results, the overall setup feels outdated for the price. Competitors like the Nothing Phone (4a) now offer more advanced features, including periscope telephoto lenses, making the A37 less competitive in this area.

Battery

The battery setup also remains unchanged.

The Galaxy A37 5G packs a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast wired charging, which can charge the device up to 60% in about 30 minutes.

You can expect around 7 hours of screen-on time, depending on usage. However, Samsung still does not include a charger in the box, which may inconvenience some buyers.

  • NPR 64,999 (8GB + 128GB)

Final Verdict

The Galaxy A37 5G feels more like a minor refresh than a true upgrade. While the Exynos 1480 chipset improves performance, Samsung has left everything else unchanged — including design, cameras, and battery.

At the same time, the price increase makes it harder to justify, especially when competitors offer more innovative features.

If you already own the Galaxy A36, upgrading to the A37 5G doesn’t make much sense. However, for new buyers, the phone still offers solid performance, a great display, and long-term software support.
